Craziness 2013

For the past month I have been awaiting the sweet, sweet arrival of my new store opening! I finally have a day off and a day away from my store, the traveling team, and the 60 new associates we've got on our team. It's been a whirlwind! With a bare store and 1500 boxes of shipment, we have managed to keep stress at a minimum and still making time to dance and be silly. Those are the moments when I know this will all pay off. I've met so many great people in this opening and I can't wait for Thursday (our grand opening) to get here!

I'm excited to set the bar and the future of all things. I'm feelin' inspired and ready to stamp my name on just about everything! I hope you've all been well!

Fruit Leather

I'm not one to be in be in the kitchen for too long, but if all recipes were this easy, that might change. Kayla over at Fancy Phrase told me one night that she was going to make some strawberry fruit leather and my curiosity got the best of me when I found out how simple it was! Brenna and I had fun making it and eating it too, yum!

You'll need:
1 bag of frozen strawberries
Your choice of sweetener (we used agave)
Food processor
Cookie sheet
Some pam

Step 1: Pre heat oven to 170 degrees and defrost the strawberries! (We went ahead and did that in the microwave.)
Step 2: Put strawberries into food processor with your choice of sweetener.  (There's no exact measurement, just listen to whatever your sweet tooth is telling you. Always do that) and process!
Step 3: Pour your strawberry and sweetener mixture onto a greased cookie sheet. Make sure it's evenly distributed for best results.
Step 4: Place into oven for 4-5 hours to dehydrate the crap out of it!
Step 5: Enjoy!

*while its in the oven we found its best to spend your time on Pinterest and playing video games.

Scorpio Rising

This dress is my favorite piece in my closet as of two weeks ago. I've been dying to get this post up! The Scorpio Rising dress comes in 3 other colors (all of which I need to add to my collection!). It's a cute little number but also a comfortable one. As a girl that considers herself to not be much of a girly girl, dresses aren't really my forté, but I could live in this one.

Sunnies- Free People
Purse and ring- Inherited from Granny
Finger Bone Necklace- Necromance
Dipped Stone Necklace- Urban Outfitters

Scorpio Rising Dress- Mink Pink for Urban Outfitters

Lately

What a crazy month it's been! I've visited Joshua, snagged that promotion I was after and am now anticipating the opening of my brand new store! I've been planning my 22nd birthday party and trying to balance exercising in between it all! Of course, I've been keeping up with all of my reading and coming across some new faces that I am little bit obsessed with....

My lovely friend, Brenna, has just entered the world of blogging and she is a natural! She's a quirky gal living with her boyfriend, Kiel, and their two kitties and puppy, Eleanor! I've been spending a ton of time planning out posts with her, snapping photos, thrifting, we even took a day trip to Prescott. It's always a great time and I'm just so excited to have someone close by to get my blog on with! Go take a peek at her blog and give her a friendly welcome.

Another lovely friend of mine, Kayla, has a blog as well! She also happens to be Josh's sister and my newest text buddy/pen pal. Kayla is a whiz in the kitchen, a clean eating queen and a photographer to boot! She's been emailing me recipes and sending me cute letters in the mail and lucky for me, has a blog I can steal recipes from too! Hop on over to Fancy Phrase and give her a little lovin'!

I've got some posts up my sleeve, but i am curious as to what have you guys been up to?! I have to try to get a couple other posts whipped up on this ipad, and let me tell you, it's a little bit tricky. Have a wonderful day and do something that makes you feel faaabulous!

Inspiration Trip

Inspiration trip was a success- I took my Team Leads on a little weekend excursion to get our creative juices flowing. We started off in Tombstone and had some tasty ice cream cones while we watched cowboys reenact shoot outs and drive carriages. After a couple of hours we headed thirty minutes east to my faaaaavorite town ever- Bisbee, AZ. It is absolutely perfect. I felt like I could never leave, which is what I feel every time I go there. Bisbee is an old mining town that is now filled with hippies and art junkies who have created tons of amazing boutiques. We shared coffee and were able to chit chat about work and opportunities and just rejoiced about being able to go on this little trip.

I think my biggest takeaway from the trip was being able to relate to these girls! When I was a team lead I always wished that I had a manager to go out and do fun things with me to get me a little more inspired. I'm just so excited to see them be excited and motivated to work and make our store and department look beautiful! I hope we can go on another Inspiration trip in the coming months! Somewhere cold, preferably. Can you believe it's 80 degrees here already?!?! I am trying to ignore it but having no such luck. I hope you are all fabulous and staying cool! Or maybe you want to stay warm... Either way, I hope you're well. What have you got going on this week? Jillian
